After surgery, the lymphatic vessels, responsible to drain the lymph, are damaged and regenerate very slowly. The lymphatic drainage helps to drain liquids and toxins off the body by reducing the lump and avoiding seromas (located accumulation of liquid) as well as the unwanted fibroses (nodules) that can form after the liposuction.
The Drainage is done in the whole operated area, and in specific points that activate the lymphatic ganglia and take the lymph up to them, making easy the drainage of the lymph.
In the beginning the massages are quite gentle with light pressure in order to avoid pain during the session.
It is recommended for all surgeries, but especially for liposuction, abdominoplasty, gynecomasty, mammoplasty, breast prostheses and facelift surgeries.
